Viva Vitalis

Federal Championships bronze winner and second HLP reserve winner

Viva Vitalis won bronze at the Federal Championships for four-year-old stallions in 2023 under his trainer Linda Casper and received top marks for his confident performance (9.5 for the canter). The champion stallion of the 2021 Mecklenburg licensing and second stallion performance test reserve winner thus confirmed his outstanding basic quality with the final dressage score of 8.62 (gallop 9.5, overall impression 9.0). He also passes this on to his foals and consequently produced the champion and reserve champion filly at the Foal Championships in Moritzburg. In Mecklenburg, his son Varon came third.

The increase in performance is no coincidence. Viva Vitalis combines the well-tested genetics of our Burg Cup winner and main sire Vitalis with those of the fabulous Gesina mare family.

The father Vitalis is one of the world's best dressage sires. In the current WBFSH ranking he is - as the youngest stallion - in 16th position. He owes this to his Grand Prix-successful offspring, including the European Championship team bronze winner Vayron/Daniel Bachmann Andersen/DEN, the team world champion, two-time individual vice world champion and World Cup runner-up Vamos Amigos/Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour/DEN, the World Cup and European Championship participants First-Step Valentin/Larissa Pauluis/BEL, the Louisdor Prize final runner-up and Aachen runner-up Valencia AS as well as the Aachen winner and Otto Lörke Prize winner Valesco/both under Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier and the Salzburg winners and Nations Cup winners Valparaiso/Laura Strobel. The latter, together with our two-time dressage horse vice world champion, federal champion and Hanoverian champion Vitalos, is one of Vitalis' over 70 licensed sons. Vitalis himself was colt champion in the Netherlands in 2007, reserve champion of the NRW licensing in 2009, HLP dressage index winner in 2010, placed at the World Dressage Horse Championships and in the Pavo Cup final in 2012, champion in the USA in 2013 and again with a record number of points for the dressage horses -World Cup qualification and immediately won the international small tour in 2014 as a seven-year-old. Back in Germany in 2016, Vitalis won the Nuremberg Burg Cup final in Frankfurt under Isabel Freese/NOR and the Stallion of the Year competition at Inter I level at the World Championships in Ermelo/NED.

The dam Furtherance also produced the licensed stallion and Go For Romance PS (by Governor), who was victorious in dressage horse tests on a series basis. She is the sister of ten licensed stallions, including the Oldenburg champion stallion, main premium winner, Burg Cup finalist, VTV dressage stallion and Grand Prix successful For Romance I OLD and the premium stallion and internationally placed For Romance II (both by Fürst Romancier) as well the other two champion stallions Feinrich (by Fürst Heinrich) and Viva Romance PS (by Vinino) and the Burg Cup fifth place Golden Romance de Malleret PS (by Governor)/Helen Langehanenberg. Her full sister Fasine OLD (by Fürst Romancier) became an Oldenburg champion mare, federal champion, P.S.I. price record holder and is successful up to Inter II. In breeding, Fasine produced the approved Fasino (by Foundation) and the mare A la Fasine (by Apache), who became the mother of the approved HP Valentino (by Vitalis). Furtherance's half-sister Fürstin Gesine (by Fürst Heinrich) was also an Oldenburg champion mare and became the mother of the licensed stallions Visino PS (by Vitalis) and Montrachten PS (by Morricone I). Furtherances is also a half-sister to Vesina PS (by Vivaldi), from whom our approved Federal Championships qualifier Sebastino (by Secret) and the also licensed and championship-placed Dreihundred PS (by Dante’s Junior) come. Furthermore, Furtherances is the half-sister of the British Dressage Champion and up to the Easy Tour placed Mount St. John Best of all (by Bordeaux), which in turn is the mother of the Vice State Champion and fifth place in the Federal Championships Best of Mount St. John OLD (by Fürst Romancier) and one approved Quantum Leap son.

The dam's father, Fürst Romancier himself, was the Oldenburg main premium winner. In 2009, as the most successful stallion of his year, he placed fourth at the World Dressage Horse Championships and the Federal Championships. Over 40 of his sons were accepted for breeding, of which For Romance I OLD/Therese Nilshagen/SWE and Favoloso L/Melanie Hofmann/SUI have already achieved Grand Prix success, just like Dorothee Schneider's First Romance and Lia Welschof's First Class.

The third sire Sir Donnerhall I and the fourth Don Schufro result in interesting line breeding for the century sire Donnerhall and the no less influential half-blood Sandro in the later generations of Viva Vitalis' pedigree.

The great-grandmother Gesine produced the first reserve champion Vivaldi's Schufro (by Vivaldi) and the Amadeus de l'Aubois (by Der Designer), which breeds in France. Her daughter Sadira de Malleret (by Sir Donnerhall I) produced Helen Langehanenberg's Zaeta de Malleret (by Zonik), who won the international small tour.

The important Voltaire also comes from this tribe.
