Bronze for Lennox U.S. and Jill Bogers
The final of the six-year-olds had an exciting and surprising conclusion. Not the winner of the qualification Hesselhoej Down Town or the number two Las Vegas won the main prize, but it was Global Player OLD (by Grand Galaxy Win) who won the gold. There was a very nice bronze medal for the KWPN stallion Lennox U.S. (v. Grand Galaxy Win) who was ridden by the only seventeen-year-old rider Jill Bogers.
Especially the perfect harmony of the winners Eva Möller and Global Player OLD was praised by the jury. “A flawless test” says Katrina Wüst. The black Oldenburger stallion is owned by Helgstrand and Schockemöhle and was bred by Henrik Hansen. “A very impressive horse with a powerful and rhythmic trot, in which the hind leg comes along well. "There was not much to criticize," said the jury. The trot received a 9.8 and the only real remark was about the step extension that could have been a bit more active. “The canter is uphill with a fine impulsion and a lot of scope. Horse and rider work together in perfect harmony, there were no mistakes. We have a lot of confidence in the future of this stallion.” After which two tens for resignation and perspective appeared on the scoreboard.
Nerves of steel
Jill Bogers must have nerves of steel because the audience in the stadium sympathized, which created an exuberant atmosphere. A difficult environment for the young horses and especially with such a young rider. But she came for what she came for, to set up the best possible test. And that worked. Lennox U.S. (Grand Galaxy Win out of Herarona elite pref IBOP D-OC by Rousseau, breeder B. Wilschut of Bosschenhoofd) showed himself very harmoniously with a light-footed trot reprise and a strong canter with nice changes. Katrina Wüst spoke on behalf of the jury: “The trot has a very good rhythm and is easy to collect, an 8.7. The step could be slightly wider with a fraction more shoulder freedom, for that a 7.9. But the canter is impressive and beautifully uphill, a 9.4. Also, the bills of Lennox U.S. are a highlight. A horse that really wants to cooperate, so a 9.5 for obedience and a 9.0 for perspective.” This brought the total to 89% and with that Bogers secured the Bronze.
Las Vegas at four
A position that we may have preconceived for Las Vegas in advance. However, Emmelie Scholtens was just unable to show the level of the preliminary rounds with the impressive son of Ferdeaux (out of Dalia Delin ster PROK van Wynton, breeder J. Deenen of Heijen). Also now he fell on my enormous strength and great movements, so the trot was again rewarded with a 9.5. However, the step was slightly tense, so that it stuck at 7.9. “The canter was nicely uphill with a lot of talent for collecting, a 9.6. In obedience, however, we have to take into account that all four switches were not completely jumped through and that there was sometimes a loss of rhythm, a 7.9.” And with an 8.8 for perspective, the total came to 87.4%, fourth place.
