A great weekend for Just Wimphof
Winning test Prix St. Georges Manege Prinsenstad
Renate van Uytert brought our eight-year-old KWPN stallions Just Wimphof, De Niro x Riccione, and Johnny Depp, Bordeaux x Jazz, for the Prix St. Georges at the Subtop competition in Delft today. She was most successful with Just Wimphof. The duo won the class with a nice score of 73.824% and with that she won also a starting ticket for the Small Tour class at Jumping Amsterdam.
With Just Wimphof, Renate van Uytert was on the starting list early on. “It went really well and I was very happy anyway. But it was a strong group. Really cool if it turns out like this", says the rider enthusiastically.
Very concentrated
For eight-year-old Just Wimphof, who competed in the finals of the World Championships for young horses as both a five- and seven-year-old, today was his third time in the Prix St. Georges. “It was completely flawless and we didn't have one fault. I had the test well in my mind, thought about the training sessions with Diederik and was very concentrated.”
Couple of things with Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp, also a two-time World Cup finalist, did his second Prix St. Georges class today, but a number of mistakes crept in, resulting in a score of 68.603% and a seventh place. “The stage with Johnny started very well but the turns did not go well and after the first pirouette he jumped. That part counts double and we also had a few things. The trot went great but the canter needs to be confirmed a bit more. There is certainly still room for improvement. You have to be flawless, especially in such a large group, but I had a good ride. That's what you do it for.”
Father Just Wimphof
On the same day that his father Just Wimphof won a ticket for Jumping Amsterdam, Oliver R Tambo SV, Just Wimphof x Spielberg, rode to victory with 91 points in the three-year-olds at the KWPN Zuid-Holland Dressage Cup under the saddle of Mercedes Verweij. Othello finished third at the KWPN Young Talents in early November and the following week he won the EquiSport Cup in Velddriel. The 3rd Just Wimphof offspring in the top 10 was Odessa Jouwertje, mv.
